Phishing Scams
Phishing Scams are becoming more and more common on the Internet. Remember that Services Center FCU will NEVER contact you via email or over the phone asking you for private account information. If you receive an email directing you to a website to enter account information or personal information claiming to be Services Center do not click on the link. Save the email and contact a Credit Union representative as soon as possible. If you have an Ebay, Paypal or a related online-account, beware of emails asking you to verify your account information by clicking on a link and entering your username and password, or credit card/debit card numbers. If you receive such an email ALWAYS open a new browser window and go to the actual web address of the website in question in order to log in. Most web-sites that provide online accounts state that they will never ask you for private account information in an email. By questioning validity of these phishy emails you can help prevent yourself from being a victim of identity theft.
